October
is here.

Okay. I love the fall, but I hate how cold its starting to get already! I am definitely not used to being in Utah, I thought eh, I was only gone for 2 years I will be used to it in a flash. Heavens no I'm not used to it at all! and just to think its going to be getting a lot colder than this A LOT COLDER!

I am excited for Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, the smells, being cold and then getting into a warm car or cuddling in a blanket, eating a huge delish Thanksgiving dinner, dressing up into anything you want to be for one night, seeing the lights at Temple square, I really do love it all! But, has its down sides to, the cold I have already mentioned that, being scared to death to drive anywhere, not being able to wear my flip flops because that's all I have! & feeling cooped up inside all day.

This year I am going to be pretty busy with work because these next three months are the most busy months for the Emporium, but I am also excited because they do a lot of fun things Cornbelly's, Scarecrow festival and so much more the one I am most excited about is

Ya-Ya Sisterhood Party.

Emporium at Thanksgiving Point,

hosted by B 98.7's Erin

Saturday, October 24Th, 6-9 pm

Spend the evening wandering admist your sisters, cast a spell on your troubles, and speak with a wise woman. Eat divine foods befitting a queen and laugh until your tummy hurts. Also, shop until you drop.

For: Girlfriends, sisters, mothers, and daughters and fabulous females of all stripes!

Attending the Ya-Ya sisterhood party:

If this is your first time, here are the three main elements of Thanksgiving Point's Ya-Ya Party.

1. Put on the Ritz. Ruffles, bows, fancy dresses, and feather boas...nothing is too "over-the-top" for the Ya-Ya sisterhood Party. Have a grand cocktail ring but no fancy parties to wear it to? Get a few more to keep it company and wear it. Frippery, regalia, finery, and baubles are all part of the evening's magic.

2. Princesses and Her Majesties. We can't choose our own name at birth, but we can name ourselves as a member of the Ya-Ya sisterhood. Make it refined or ridiculous... it's you name.

3. Wear a Headdress. Wearing your own special headdress is the crowning touch of Ya-Ya sisterhood. Making the headdress to express your true, beautiful inner self is all part of the fun. Obtain a "base hat" from your closet, the attic, or a vintage shop. Use whatever you can find to make the most outrageous hat you've ever worn and bring it along.

This will be my first year going/working at the Ya-Ya sisterhood, and I am very excited its just a Big, Huge, girls night out! The Melting Pot will be there catering the event, lots of different vendors, a palm reader, and even a Etheticians will be there! Its going to be loads of fun! Grab a babysitter, or tell your hubby he has to stay home with the kids that night and come on out with you friends, mothers, sisters, grandmothers, anyone! (sorry no guys aloud!) and come have some fun!

The best thing to hold onto in life is each other. - Audrey Hepburn

Its strange in a time where you are going through one of your hardest trials, the time you feel alone the most, you learn you are not alone. The last two years my family has learned this.

And now, its another families turn to go through something that they feel like they won't survive.

You are never alone. Sooner or later, tough times come to us all, and you'll quickly realize that you are not alone- your friends are here, too. Hope can open the door to change, so surround yourself with people who share your hopes. Faith can move mountains, so surround yourself with people who believe you can and you will prevail. Love can do anything, so surround yourself with people who love and care for you. Vincent Van Gogh once wrote, " People must believe in each other, and feel that it can be done and must be done; in that way they are enormously strong." The truth is, there are no problems so big that we cannot solve & overcome them together. We are always bigger than anything that can happen to us.

Keep the Rodgers and Newsome family in your prayers, the littlest things can help!

A year has come and gone, since our lives were turned upside down.

A year ago at this time I didn't know how we were going to make it through all this.

But we are, day by day.

when your in the moment of something horrible happening, your scared, you just want to curl up in a ball close your eyes and never wake up until you know its over with, but we couldn't we had to be strong, for the family.

when your in the moment of something horrible, you pray over and over, you think your not strong enough to go through all this, that your not going to make it, but we are making it, its been a whole year.

It wasn't an easy year, and its still not easy but we are making it.

There are times where I still asked the Lord why? I don't know why I ask him this, I know he isn't going to tell me, not yet.

It hasn't just been the accident there is so much more, each of us have gone through our own trials at this time, but we are still being strong for each other, where does this strength come from?

Faith. Love. Humility. Being a family, a close family.

Its hard being back in a place where I don't want to be, Yes I have lots of friends and family that live there and I miss them but its not a place for me anymore.
I don't feel comfortable there, people treated my family horribly through hard times, and we found out who really cared for our family.
They are the ones that stuck with my family, they are the ones that call my family just to see how they are doing and to let them know they are still praying for them and love them, and I appreciate those people, I have true love for them, because they helped us be strong.
so now it can only be a place to visit.

The hardest thing for me to learn through all this and more is that I'm not in control, the Lord is.

I've always been a control freak, and when I'm not in control it scares me.

I can control the outcome of things by the decisions I make but I can't control things that are supposed to happen.

I can live my life the way I am supposed to and things will go a lot smoother, or I can have the strength that I didn't know I had, but I still can't control what is supposed to happen.

Live your life the way your supposed to.

So here's to another year, making it day by day.

4th week

The 4Th and final weekend of July we all headed down to New Mexico to visit my parents and the kids, it was so good to see them all I have missed them so much and it was good to have all the family together on a little mini vacation. We all had a blast from staying up late talking and catching up, going to the swimming pool, going out to eat, playing in a softball game, to having our annual butt kicking in bowling by Megg and Kade!
Deja at the swimming pool waiting to get in, I know I take so many pictures of her but you can't blame me look at how beautiful she is!

some of us resting in the shade getting ready for a couple more hours of swimming!

After swimming we all got ready and headed for the mall, to do some window shopping! and eat at a place I cannot remember the name of, but we all had a fun time there and had lots to eat especially Kyle!
yep he ate all this and more!

The family at dinner!

Saturday we played in a softball game, I completely bombed, it had definitely been a while! we then headed to the bowling alley, every time we all go bowling we have a couples competition and yes Kade and Meggan kicked our butts as usual, but we almost had them!

and these are the teams....
and Deja slept for a little while, after she woke up she was trying to figure out what we were all doing and enjoying the lights!

After a fun night of bowling we went back to my parents house and relaxed, this picture of Deja cracks me up she wasn't ready for my flash!

Sunday we all went to my parents ward and had a good day at church! We then had a Delicious home made dinner that my mom made, I miss having dinner at my parents house, I love my mom's cooking!

Kyle and Brandon, being well Kyle and Brandon!

We then headed home, I really didn't want to leave, I have really been missing my family, I hope we all can go back down there and spend more fun time with them!

on our way home we arrived in Green River to gas up and it started to storm right as we pulled up, it wasn't to bad, but once Kyle stepped outside it really started to come down he ran into the convenient store paid and ran out, he got in the car and he was soaked, water dripping off his hair his shirt and shorts were completely wet, I couldn't hold it back I had to start laughing! (isn't he just so handsome, even soaking wet!)

The 3rd weekend of July was the best! It was our 2 year anniversary, and Kyle had it all planned out, everything was a big surprise!
Friday we went to Hotel Monico, we stayed here two years ago on our honey moon before we flew out to Hawaii, it is such a fun hotel and close to everything in downtown Salt Lake!
When we first arrived to the Hotel Kyle gave me a present! I had no clue what it was...
a Rebel XS!! I was so excited this camera is so expensive, he even bought it brand new I would have taken a used one its a little cheaper that way, Kyle is so amazing, I have wanted this camera for so long, but I wasn't expecting to get one until I was able to put some money away for it!

After I opened my present Kyle said to get ready, he was taking me out to eat somewhere special, I still had no clue where we were going until he started to head to cottonwood canyon he was taking me to La Caille! Kyle took me here 2 years ago the day he purposed, this restaurant is one of the top places in Utah to eat and have a wedding it is such a gorgeous place I love it! the cheapest plate they have is $52.00, how can we afford this I have no clue, but Kyle once again being such an amazing husband took me here! We even got to eat outside with a beautiful view, watching the geese, bunnies, and peacocks (sp?) run around us,underneath our table and we even had one jump up on our table! If you have a little money saved up and want a very romantic night I totally recommend La Caille!

Saturday, we walked down to gateway & walked around and decided to go to a great movie called Public Enemy, I know its rated "R" but there was no nudity or it doesn't say the "F' word at all, it is a really good movie! Later Kyle had another surprise planned this time I had no clue where we were going, we were in west Salt Lake and I have never been in that area before, and then he pulled into Hale Theatre! Kyle had reservations for us to see Hello Dolly, I was so excited! It was so good, there isn't one bad seat in the theatre! I am so lucky to have a husband who has no problem taking me to plays, the ballet, or symphony's and he even enjoys them himself!

other highlights of our anniversary was ordering delicious room service blue berry pancakes & eating it in bed! & spending time with that handsome guy! Kyle is such an amazing person with such a big heart! He works his butt off so that we can do things like this for our anniversary & I am so grateful for him not only because of the things he gives me but mostly because he is such a sweet compassionate person, he is always thinking of others he truly is an amazing person and I am extremely lucky and proud to be his wife!

Sunday morning we headed back to Sanpete to make Kyle's cousin's 16th birthday! Happy Birthday Chantel! we had some yummy BBQ hamburgers! Having fun visiting with family and having hand stand contests and chicken wars! We even got a chance to go Geo Caching that day!
